Getting whatever you want really isn’t that hard. You just gotta stay focused while everyone else has gets bored and moves onto to something else. Its true for property development, software development and getting good at pretty much anything. Malcom Gladwell reckons that all it takes to become truly world class at something is to spend 10,000 hours practicing it. Of course bugger all people can hold their attention on something for 10,000 hours. Even swimwear models lose their appear after 10 minutes or so.
Recently I’ve been a little more distracted than normal – so in an effort to become a little more focused I started a new project. You got it. Don’t worry though – this one was a quickie. I set up http://twitter.com/dailyfocus. Its a twitter bot that simply asks “how much revenue did you add today?” at about 16:30 Irish time every day.
Its just a little reminder for myself that really all I gotta do is stay focused on day to day revenue and the rest will follow. You can follow it too and join me and 4 other Eastern Eurpean girls looking for love. Of course, its kind of like admitting you aren’t focused. Then again, unless your a concert pianist, you probably are.

But maybe when they see me following they might come back! A mid morning or early afternoon tweet asking ‘Are you making the most valuable use of your time?’ might help get back in focus also.
With Agtweet have you looked at a rate charge for sporting organisations. Something along the lines of teamer.net for organising games/training etc. I know you have a sailing club using it for updates. I’d happily pay for text messages telling me where our dive club was going for the weekend instead of phoning around for info. A club would pay for a bundle of texts sent out. They could predict fairly accurately based on number of members and activity in a given month how much they’d need. Members could reply with availability etc. It would be up to the clubs themselves if they wanted to charge their members for the service and could even charge extra with the extra money going back into the club. And of course they could all log onto Twitter during the week and chat about the game/event/dive/whatever

Not a bad idea at all about the mid-day text. I’ve set that up to go out starting tomorrow. I have to say, I can do with the focus for sure this week. I’m aiming to release @replies for agtweet on Friday.
I signed up for teamer ages ago and just went back this morning to check it out again. I’m working on a standard subscription model for Agtweet. There are three levels right now for €3, €9 and €16. Each has a different level of replies included. What I’m really looking for is a ‘feature’ that can be added to the middle and top plans to differentiate them. Allowing multiple accounts use the same bundle of replies might be it. This could then be used for a the team situation. Its a little nerve wrecking setting the prices like this. There are about 200 sign ups a month on Agtweet so I’m expecting about 2 paid members a month. Of course, there might be more than that – you just can’t tell.
